It's no secret that mint condition dimes are worth a lot more than ones in fair or poor condition. A coin in fine condition is usually worth much more than a coin with scratches or marks. As a general rule, older coins are more valuable; but it isn't always the case. Everyone knows that old and rare coins are desirable, but there is more than just age and scarcity that go into determining a coin's value to collectors. Coins can be valued by many factors, the most important of which is, of course demand.
